Serving Bass Lake Camp & Corporation Churches

Why Bass Lake Camp Matters

Between childhood and adulthood, most young people settle on what they believe. A week at Bass Lake Camp is one of the church's best opportunities to help them settle it on Christ.

For 66 years, Minnesota Regular Baptist Camp at Bass Lake has given young people a set-apart week: away from screens, surrounded by God's Word, and cared for by counselors who know Christ. Each summer, [number] campers come to Bass Lake. Last summer, [number] of them made decisions for Christ.

The Critical Years

The window closes early

Among young adults who have left the religion they were raised in, nearly three in four say they left by age 17. One in four left before they were even teenagers. These are the very years our campers spend at Bass Lake.

Proven Impact

Camp makes a lasting difference

A national study followed more than 3,000 teens over several years. Among teens active in church, 80% who went to a Bible camp remained involved years later, compared with 56% of those who didn't.

Church Ownership & Governance

Your church's camp

Bass Lake isn't run from a distance. It belongs to the churches that support it, and those churches guide it together through two kinds of volunteers:

Camp Corporation Messengers

2 per church

Messengers represent their church. They carry news from camp to their congregation and cast their church's votes at the Annual Meeting each March.

  • Hear what God has done and what lies ahead
  • Vote on key business, budgets, and bylaws
  • Elect the trustees who serve on the camp's board

Camp Trustees

3-year board term

Trustees serve on the board that governs the camp all year, keeping it true to Scripture, caring for its grounds and buildings, and managing its resources wisely.

  • 12 trustees: 6 pastors and 6 laymen
  • 4 quarterly board meetings (mostly by Zoom)
  • Committee service in finance, facilities, personnel & program
"Both roles are quiet work, and both help the next generation meet Christ."
